  • Approach.

Our theaapists are as unique as the clients they see, and same goes for their approaches to therapy. Grey Embraced does not require our therapists to all practice in the same way. Instead, therapists use the evidence-based, research-backed therapy they align with most. We believe this allows clients to find the best fit for themselves in choosing.a therapist.

  • Credentials.

All of our therapists hold a professional license to practice psychotherapy that is regulated by a state licensing board. We all have earned the Masters degrees required to obtain and maintain state licensure and board certification. Due to the rigorous academic and clinical background of our clinicians, we all are adequately prepared and licensed to assess, diagnose, treat and support people experiencing mental health difficulties.

Multidisciplinary Approach.

The best mental health treatment happens when your clinician is informed by multiple disciplines and clinical viewpoints outside of just their own. Whether we attend regular consultation meetings or are under supervision, therapists working at Grey Embraced do not practice in isolation. Instead, we believe in collaborating with psychiatrists, nutritionists, hormonal experts and other clinicians to deliver the most holistic treatment approach and consider many angles. All of this is done without identifying who our clients are and with your explicit permission. if you are working with another professional we are happy to coordinate care so we can offer you the most robust support.

A note from the founder,

Thank you so much for stopping by! Five years ago, Grey Embraced was born inside of a cozy Dutch flat tucked along the cobblestone-lined streets of Maastricht, Netherlands.

After graduating mid-pandemic, I moved to the Netherlands for my husband’s job. Known for its grey, groggy weather, it was surprisingly the happiest season of my life. Being away from the U.S. gave me distance from the polarizing mindsets and rigid narratives I had fallen into, allowing me to see life, and myself, with more nuance.

While living abroad, I worked as a refugee aid, an experience that deeply shaped my worldview and clinical approach. I witnessed how someone can flee their home due to religious persecution, child brideship, or war, and yet still long deeply for their culture, traditions, and sense of home. Two truths existing at once. I felt this myself too, missing American comforts while profoundly valuing what I was learning as an expat.

That tension is where Grey Embraced gets its name.

Founded mid-pandemic as a virtual practice serving North Carolinians, Grey Embraced later grew into a brick-and-mortar space serving locals and international students. in the Netherlands After three meaningful years, we returned to the U.S. and expanded into a small group practice with a passion for helping others explore and honor the grey areas of their stories.

I’m so glad you’re here.
